Housing Programs

We recognize the great need for safe, secure and affordable housing and it's impact on a person with a mental illness. For that reason, Potential Place offers housing for its members.  Presently, Potential Place owns and operates two apartment complexes, which house 27 people in individual units.

After joining the Clubhouse and participating in the work ordered day program, those members who need independent housing have an opportunity to apply for our housing vacancies.

Clubhouse housing is within easy walking distance or a short transit ride to the Clubhouse, consequently members can benefit from easy access to nutritious meals, multiple recreation programs and many other Clubhouse activities. Members indicate that this continuum of service is an invaluable resource that both complements and facilitates their independent living situation and provides enough long-term security that employment now becomes a more viable option.

Our housing program is somewhat unique, in that our tenants participate along with other Clubhouse members, in the property management of the buildings. All of our members are able to live independently while also participating in the daily upkeep of the building. Regular housing meetings are held where common issues are brought forward. Here future business and recreational plans are discussed and decided upon through consensus.
