Our Work Units About
Potential place Clubhouse is divided into various work units, much like departments, designed to manage the everyday tasks associated with the operation of the Clubhouse. The work of each unit is divided into specific, manageable tasks that can be done each day. When a member joins the Clubhouse, he or she selects a "home unit", according to his or her interests and abilities. The member can then sign up to participate in the unit tasks. This gives him or her an opportunity to work side-by-side with the Clubhouse staff and other members in a unique partnership, and to contribute in meaningful ways to the overall operation of the Clubhouse.
Potential Place has two work units. They have two daily meetings; at 9:00am & 1:00pm daily to discuss the activities and projects that are to be worked on for that day. They are as follows: Community Connections Unit, and our Café Unit.
Community Connections Unit:
The Community Connections Unit is responsible for managing reception, welcoming new members, statistics, tours, orientation, and intakes for new members. This unit also assists members with their employment, education. Potential Place owns and operates its own apartment buildings and so we are able to assist members with some of their housing needs.
Café Unit
The café Unit is responsible for operating a bistro, and providing a daily lunch to all of the Clubhouse colleagues. They are also responsible for inventory control, food purchase, preparation and cleanup. They keep our kitchen maintenance up as well as educate our members in nutrition, healthy Lifestyles as well as developing cooking skills along with educating them on food safety.
